An extension and renovation of a Victorian terrace house in London.
The ground floor has been extended to produce a larger living area with a new WC
and dedicated utility space. The large glazed areas on the North facade are designed to maximise natural daylight into the heart of the building, together with a large rooflight on the South East area of the new flat roof. The external material finish of the extension matches the London stock brickwork of the existing house. By keeping all the proposals to the same scale and massing of the existing we have avoided any over looking and over shadowing to the neighbouring properties. Managing the historic environment The property is within a Conservation Area. By retaining many of the existing and orginal external features and elements that contribute to the properties qualities, the extension efficiently integrates with the main house to minimise its impact and footprint.
